Expectations

好人会有好报，恶人会有恶报，若有不报，时辰未到。
人不为己天诛地灭。好人难做。

People are often remembered for their flaws and mistakes; weaknesses and misgivings amplified, rarely for their sincerity and kindness; strengths and givings taken for granted.

It is only natural not to ask for anything from people who are not prepared to give; but is a balance achieved when we ask for more from people who are prepared to give?

Lady Luck

Have you ever wondered why Luck is sometimes called Lady Luck, as in why a lady? When does one get lucky? When Lady Luck smiles to one? So when someone strikes 4D, does it mean that that someone is lucky?

But if the someone did not buy 4D to begin with, then that someone would never be "lucky" enough to strike 4D; does it mean that luck contains an element of choice too? On the other hand, my car licence plate number came up 2nd prize but I did not buy, does it on the contrary suggests that I am unlucky? Or have I made a choice not to be able to be "lucky"?

A lot of times in our lives, we have encountered moments when we would exclaim in wonder and relief, "wow, luckily..." or "how lucky of me to have...". So once again, is it really the work of Lady Luck or it is a twist of events due to certain choices we make?

Some people argue that we can predict our future up to 90% accuracy - e.g. we can make appointments with friends (out of our own free will) which we are confident of happening - from how we plan our time of departure and gauge the duration of transport time to meeting the person at a particular place. Yet very often, we take the accuracy and precision of these predictions for granted and we say in dismay, "Life is so unpredictable!"

May 2007 be a Great Year for Everyone!

Dearest visitors of Kiddy's Moving Castle, it has been 2 months since my last posting. Hope everyone is still doing well and have gotten all ready for the exciting year of 2007 ahead.

Think Kiddy is gonna be really busy this coming year...what's new right? =P Anyhow, think I should be going back to study again...part time courses naturally...to upgrade myself. =) So hopefully I can still find time to post some of my "boring" philosophical thoughts (probably nonsensical to many =P) in this coming year.
